December 18 to December 21, 2009
We left New Jersey Friday morning to visit Baltimore, where we had lived for four years before we had started traveling in 2008. A giant snowstorm was predicted for the Baltimore/DC area, but we didn't believe the predictions of over a foot of snow, mainly because we had never seen more than four inches ever stick while we were living there. We also had discovered a fairly major leak in the roof of the Sportsmobile, so we were justly wary of wet weather. We made it to the Fells Point neighborhood, where we had first lived when we moved to the city in 2004, and where most of our friends still lived. We figured we would park the van close to our friend's house where we would be staying, tarp the roof "just in case" it did snow after all and just walk around until the snow cleared. We managed to run into almost all of our friends in Fells Point over the course of the weekend, but were unable to make it to any other parts of the city since it did end up snowing 16" over Friday night and through Saturday! It was a record setting December snow storm. It was great to be back in Baltimore, but we weren't inspired to move back right away. Even with the blanket of snow making everything look clean - we missed the wide open spaces that we have been spending time in during the last year.
